We’ve all heard the Alternative Minimum Tax Alternative Minimum Tax horror stories. Middle class Americans with modest means getting stuck paying the dreaded Alternative Minimum Tax, or AMT.

The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) was enacted in the late 1960’s. It’s original intent, like a lot of the laws, was to target a small niche of individuals.
